The Ignition (HI) series offers you the chance to own a piece of history even on a tight budget. This model has a fully hollow body combined with Höfner 70's style 'staple' pick-ups to give the authentic Höfner sound. It is of course fitted with the famous Höfner control panel, this has on/off for each pick-up, solo/rhythm switch and individual volume controls. This special edition has the famous Hofner Tea Cup knobs on the control panel and has Hofner flatwound strings for that 60s sound! Finished in a special color for a truly distinctive bass.

Lightweight and with its short scale (30") neck it is a pleasure to play, even for hours without getting back-ache and fatigue. This bass comes at the perfect price point for players requiring the classic Höfner sound on a budget.

Great Service from CME -- but bass is just ok

As usual, great service and experience with CME. I was looking for a short- scale bass and was deciding between the Hofner Club and a Mustang PJ Bass. I should have gone with the Mustang -- and the rep tried to convince me of that. However, went with the Hofner. Not to be negative, the Hofner is a good bass. Light, easy to play. If you are looking for a 'couch bass' then you probably can't go wrong with it. I play bass primarily in a studio to create music for video and VR games. I wouldn't want to use the Hofner for that reason. Just not getting the right sound --- and it could me me vs. the Hofner's problem. So giving it three stars and I'll learn to to listen to my CME rep better in the future.

If you decide you'd like to return an item, please contact your Sales Rep, chat us, or give us a call.

If you placed your order on Amazon or eBay, we advise issuing the return request from your account on the platform of purchase - our Customer Service team will process a refund upon receipt of the item(s).

Most new items may be returned within 30 days of delivery and most vintage & used items may be returned within 3 days of delivery for a full refund, exchange, or store credit. Please pack the product safely for the journey back to us. If the product was shipped for free, the charge will be deducted from refund, unless the reason for the return is outside normal circumstances.

Please contact us as soon as possible if your order was received incorrectly, damaged, or defective. Most times we will give you an RA number (Return Authorization). Why is that number important? This will allow us to speed up the process of the return.

We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee based on the return condition. Some items we just can’t take back for returns, due to a one time function like strings or drums heads and other times it’s not sanitary to do so with microphones or harmonicas.
