Hi folks, back with this "Just Plugged In Amp" edition, part two. If you haven't seen the first one, you probably should, so you kind of get an idea of what we're doing. It's pretty simple anyway, just plugging in amps. Can I just say, that sounds phenomenal! Well, yeah, I've not… I've not seen one of them like that before. That's really cool. I like it with the plug.
So, to actually start, we're going to choose a guitar first before the amp. Uh, and then we're going to come back up, bring your amp downstairs. I mean, there's a huge array of guitars, some new ones that we've got as well. New as in, like, they've come into the vault. They're not brand new, some of them are. I mean, that's… I love that. Um, that's a cool-looking SG. Really like this, by the way. Dave Brown teles, really light as well. I think I'm going to plug that in later on. But the first thing I think we're going to do, by the way, Randy Rhoads. That is amazing. Uh, Novo, I think we're going to play that. If you can see it, uh, we're going to play this now. This is new to the vault. So, this is a Gibson Les Paul Custom 1972 Sunburst. So, uh, we're going to pick out an amp now.
This is one of my favorite amps in the shop. Uh, we've done multiple videos at that… personally, I'm glad it hasn't sold yet, 'cause I don't think it actually was for sale for a while. It wasn't for sale for a while 'cause we liked it that much. But I think it might be now. Unfortunately, my loss is your gain. Um, I think we've done a video with that. This, we did last week or in the last episode, uh, part one of this "Just Plugged In Amp Edition," a '53 uh Fender Twin. Great amp, great sounding amp. We've done a video on the Watkins. Sorry, we got a little Bluetooth speaker on top of the Watkins. Uh, that had its own full video, very rare amp. We have two of them, two at the same time, which is crazy.
But we're going to start with this. Um, I have not plugged this in. Big bug… Big Brother behind… Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. Should we not just do that instead? I don't want to… I move… Can we just do the demo here? I'll… I'll sit on the drum and I'll… If we do a Full Band Friday with that and that, two guitars, two uh huge rigs… What song do you want to hear us play? Stereo. You could plug in both. I could do stereo, just clean reverb everywhere. Yeah, if we do that and that, what song do you want us to play, folks? Full Band Friday. Let us know in the comments. But for now, we're going to go with a little one here. So, a Marshall JMP 2x12 combo from 1977. It's 4 grand. So, we're going to bring it downstairs. I've not plugged this in at all.
Oh, almost got your fingers there. [ _ _ ] Hell, come on in. It's a '77. Nice. It looks good. You coming down? Yeah, we're going to hang out. I mean, like, I'm not weak. Just spotted, just getting the plug out of the back here. And we got a little sticker there. Okay, cool. Oh, yeah, does that mean I have to play some goo? So, we're downstairs. We've got the '77… no, '72, '72 uh Custom. Looks great into the '77 amp. It's loud. I've got earplugs in. So, uh, see how it sounds.
Anyway, finally got it. Um, I mean, that sounds great to me. Uh, really good combination. Got a bit of a "tons of roses" there on it. How do you feel about the Sunburst? I feel like you don't see this one a lot. You don't. And you know what? I've… I've never been hugely into them. But this one's… Yeah, I like this. I mean, I'd… I'd have this all day. Plays well, this guitar. But the sound out of the amp now… I'm not going clean. Do you want to clean it up? Do… Do we want to clean up maybe a little bit? Maybe a little bit. But I mean, in the room here, folks, it sounds phenomenal. I've got to say, these two together. Um, you want to do some Who? Should I do some Who slightly clean on here? Right, let's try that.
Oh, whatever. Oh, kind of messed around. You get the idea. Um, yeah, a little bit snippet of clean. But the overdrive on this, just the natural kind of overdrive that you get from it… I mean, the setting we're kind of just cranked, almost cranked. There's a little more gain in there. Yeah, this one's got a preamp. This has a preamp, which I'm a huge fan of. I've got to say. So, this plus it looks cool. I like… What is it? Tan? You call it tan, beige? Yeah. So, that was a very cool combination. I think that's going to be pretty tough to beat. But we do have something very special at the end. Let's have a look at which amp we're going to do next. Say hello, Dan Beast. Hey, I make you on the camera. We got the boss. We're tough. What are you doing? Uh, this "Plugged In," part two of the amp edition. The Marshall is phenomenal. Which one? The one that was there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That is phenomenal. Trying to explain that to people and everybody looks at it thinking it's like '80s something or something like that. But it's ridiculously phenomenal. And it's rare. How… How rare… Well, I mean, I've never seen one. Um, I can verify that for you as soon as the new Marshall book that I'm about to get, the single copy of, arrives here via FedEx in a matter of hopefully minutes. Oh, really? Tracking info. The amp is in there.
We're going to use this now. That is a good-looking Tele. I'm a huge fan of humbuckers in the neck. Also, this is really light. This is dead light. Uh, it's been beautifully aged. I love that. I know some people aren't into it. Fair enough. Some people really are. I really like that. Built by Master Builder uh David Brown with Kuniff humbuckers. Kuniff, I think. Is it Kun? Yeah. So, sorry, not K. I love this 'cause I've played it a little bit at home, a little bit here. Um, it's phenomenal. So, we're going to plug this into… You know, I'll leave this here for a sec. Right? So, some of you might have seen this amp uh in some of our previous videos. So, this, besides from being nice and light, uh, so Fender, it says 5A3, 5B3, whatever that means. Anyway, it's a TV front Deluxe from 1949. Very old amp. Uh, so we're going to plug it in to the Tele and see what it does. See you downstairs.
So, we are back down in the video room. And so, just take this off again. Uh, we got this really cool Tele again. It's really light. I like that. Uh, Custom Shop Nocaster, Master Built by David Brown with Kunaf humbuckers. I got it right. But uh, obviously, this is the amp edition of this "Plugged In," part two. We got the Fender TV front. I think it was called for 1949 Deluxe. Um, great looking amp. 1949. How much is it, by the way? Price is 7 grand. Uh, obviously a very rare kind of amp. It's in good condition, right? Imagine that's like really good. Yeah, I mean, it might not look like it is. But considering it's from '49, it's probably in great condition, right? Uh, let's give it a blast. So, pretty… You know, a little bit, little bit of bite to…
I mean, sounds pretty good. What do you think? He's come down. That's why he came down. Sounds pretty damn good. Not bad, right? And, and that's not even cranked. Let's do it. Let's crank it up a little bit.
We are cranked all the way. It's maxed out. We're on the bridge. Can I just say that sounds phenomenal? Um, again, sorry, I'm kind of just going on and on here because that sounds phenomenal. Did people realize what they had in 1949 with this sound? They probably hated that. They probably did. I loved it. Yeah, I mean, it'd be interesting to hear Django with that. It wouldn't. I'm joking, folks. It wouldn't. Um, we're kind of blown away by how good this sounds. Now, if you kind of lay back with your picking hands, it's very dynamic. I just want to do chords, be on the bridge. I want to be on a bridge. All I want to do is like kind of open chords. Crystal bridge. Anyway, sorry, I'm just kind of noodling here, messing around, getting a feel for it. Great combo. Really great combo. But that amp, 1949, like when was the really first overdriven, uh, when were people using that sound? Yeah, what's that track? Uh, God, I know people are going to say The Kinks, but there was one before that, I'm pretty sure. Um, boom, it's like some simple little riff like that. Um, I can't remember. Anyway, I could have it wrong, folks. Forgive me. But blown away by this. It's just very little on the top of it in terms of knobs and dials, uh, just a couple of on there from 1949. It sounds phenomenal. So, come try it out if you can. So, couple of great guitars to kick things off with, a couple of great amps. The next amp we don't have to go very far. We're going to be choosing this, uh, this orange. Um, there's a great amp. You can leave it there for now. Yeah, anyway, we're going to put this on there, folks. And so, you know, we're going to, we're going to choose a guitar first. So, we'll go back up to the vault. Um, so Drew, what was your favorite? The, uh, the Les Paul or the Telly? Uh, Telly so far, was it? Yeah, well, was good, but tricky choice. Now, like I said, we're going to choose a guitar. So, I think I mean, could be, could be that. That's cool. That's cool. We haven't done that. But we're going to go with this just 'cause it's crazy. Why not? Also, look how long the screws are. Um, great looking. I like this. You know, I really like this. It's not light. It's what you'd expect. Do you know what I mean? A Novo Signature Solus or Solus H2 acrylic body, obviously, uh, with Lala Custom pickups. Uh, wonderful looking guitar. Do you want to see it from the back? Nice one. You been cheeky, Banta? Hey, has he been cheeky all day? I haven't. I haven't. I haven't. Uh, made in Nashville. Uh, this is nine grand. Great looking guitar. Listen, United won yesterday. Oh, there it is. United won yesterday. I missed that. We're still [ _ _ ] We are, but I missed that. Who'd they beat? A college team? No, Real Sauce, your dad in the Europa League, I swear, Real Saucy Deadad. So, we've got a wonderful Orange overdrive amp from 1977. I mean, number one, it looks great, uh, but it also sounds great. It's very loud, but it has a wonderful overdrive, uh, natural overdrive in it, um, which is great. Um, it's been here for a couple years because we wanted to hang on to it, to be quite honest. We were kind of selfish, right? I really love this amp. Um, and again, we've got this. This is one of one. Uh, we got it at the N show. Uh, so this is the only one they've made. Whether I'm going to make more in the future, I don't know. Um, but it's a great guitar. Again, the Novo, um, Solless H2 acrylic body, um, nine grand. Great looking guitar. Let's give it a blast. Or whatever it is, kind of sorry, butchering some goo through. Sounds good though. Yeah, I mean, the pickups sound great on this thing. I like the bridge a lot. That's what I was going to say. Yeah, the bridge would be my favorite. Right. So, uh, this is about as clean as this amp goes from what we can tell. Yeah, pretty clean. Um, it's enough for that. Go the other way. Let's go the other way. Right? We're cranked all the way up here. Wow. Um, very loud, very good. Um, you know, let me just do it without the head, just to see. That's good. That is phenomenal. Um, it's loud, it's proud, it's incredible. It looks great. It sounds great. Now, it's got that very rock and roll sound. Now, clean, I probably wouldn't use it clean myself personally, but you could. Um, I love that amp. It's been here for a while 'cause we hung on to it for a while, um, selfishly. I had a part in that, right? I was like, "Please don't sell." Wonderful amp. Come check it out. And again, shout out to Novo. This is actually really comfortable to play. The neck is lovely, the whole shape of it. I, I love this. You know, I really do like this. Looks great from whatever way you look at. So, yeah, come check it out. Cool combination. Uh, let's move on to the next amp. It's a big one. All right. So, before we go up and check out our last amp, uh, a very good friend of the shop, a rockstar essentially, I'm not going to name names, uh, his guitar is getting processed. He's having a little bit of a TLC done to it. Yes, Alec, I believe you got some for something you've never seen before. Oh, really? Find that hard to believe given where we work. Although, maybe you're right. I don't know what we got. What? Well, yeah, I've not, I've not seen one of them like that before. This is bizarre, but cooler. That's a 1959 Les Paul Special routed for humbuckers, refinished, rewired, relic’d. And as you can see, it's got a side pole vibrola on it, which those would never have had, but it's pretty cool. It looks great. It's pretty crazy. It's got Grovers on it. You can see the serial number still, so it was a, looks like it was Cherry, right? It looks good in black. Thank you for showing us that. That was pretty sick. Got all these, by the way. They're pretty cool. Right, folks. We are downstairs with a Dumble. We did some maneuvering. We did, we changed a few things around. Uh, we got an overdrive special here, and we got a '59 Les Paul pull. So, it's not a bad combination. So, uh, here is the clean. Pull back off the tone a little bit.
I mean, that's the one right there. Just that right there. That's lovely. Um, sorry, folks. Just kind of messing around. Uh, first time you're like playing this. Yeah, this is my first time properly doing this. [Music] Right. So, we have, uh, we've changed it a little bit. We've gone a little bit overdriven on the overdrive special. Uh, here's how it sounds again with Les. Uh, so we've changed up slightly. We are now into the FE input, FET or feet, um, which is kind of like a solid state preamp, right? Um, now I don't know much about it, but, uh, Joe, uh, was recently at a shop, Joe Bonamasa, and we did a video, and he explains it way better than I ever will be able to. So, the fat is the solid state, it's a solid state chip for this hits that you drive it past noon. That's, that's how you get those big fat things, or you can go, you know, uh, so go check that video out. But here's how it sounds. I mean, that sounds pretty good, right? I like that a lot. Even with the, uh, with the ear plugs in. I mean, one more time with that. That's, that's [ _ _ ] good, man. That's really [ _ _ ] good. Yeah, I love that. That is crazy good. Uh, this is the second most ...most expensive rig I think I'll ever play in my life. Um, again, thank you to Joe. He… we hung out at the show as the shop… a few of us went. Uh, he was kind enough to let me play through his rig, which was stunning. Um, but yeah, and that's… that's the most expensive rig. But yeah, this is… I mean, that just sounds amazing, as you'd expect. So, now we're going to… what? We're going to clone it? We're going to put a… a clone… more expensive? Make it more expensive? Why not? Yeah. Um, we're going to put a clone, a Horsey clone, in this chain somewhere, um, and we're going to see how that sounds. So, give us a second. Uh, right. So, now we have the clone in front of it, the Horsey one. Um, so this is it without the clone turned on. So, no clone. \[Music] \[Music] What do you reckon, Drew? I don't know. We take the plug out? Yeah, I'll do the same. Let me try that. One ear, one ear. Yeah, let's see. \[Music] I don't know. I like it with the clone. Uh, so here's that riff again. You got enough there, right? Um, damn, it sounds good, right? Yeah. Play some riffs up here. Oh, that sounds good. All right. Jeez. So, that was the latest episode of "This Just Plugged In," part two, amped edition. Uh, so we finished strong, I think. Uh, cool combo. I'm very lucky that I get to do this. I'm very well aware not everyone gets to do this. Um, so thank you for seeing me. Um, it's pretty spectacular. What was your favorite, Drew? I don't know. You got… You got a few. This, like, this trio that we had going on, it's crazy. Like, you read about it in magazines when you're a kid, you know? You think, "Okay, how good can it be?" It's… it's spectacular. Um, so I don't know how long this is going to be around for. It might sell tomorrow. It might sell now. It might sell in two months. Who knows? Um, but come check it out. Again, thanks, as always, for watching our videos. Leave us comments. What was your favorite amp? Your favorite guitar? But more importantly, leave us, uh, comments as to what you want the next episode to be on. Um, but until then, thank you so much for watching, as always, and we'll see you next time.
