Condition: Item is subject to minor wear.

From Carr:

…And now for something completely different!!
The Telstar blends the sinewy harmonic assertion of EL84s with the deep full control of 6L6s in a new and unique push pull recipe.  You may have a 6L6 amp or an EL84 amp but not an amp that uses both types in harmony for a new pallet of expression.  The Telstar sound can easily range from haunting rich cleans to creamy overdrive.  Our Lean/Lush switch tailors the body of the tone while the 53/58 switch changes the overall gain structure and the frequencies the Tone control emphasizes.  Sonically treading the years from early Fullerton 50s roundness thru late 50s proto British bite.

  • Unique power section using EL84 and 6L6 tubes in push pull
  • Early/Late 50s Tweed inspired preamp with extended openness
  • Very dynamic Mid Century Midrange
  • All tube 17” spring Reverb
  • Variable Attenuator 0 ~ 17 watts
  • 4 knob control layout: Volume, Tone, Reverb, Attenuator
  • Lean/Lush Toggle - Tight or fat bass tailored for overdriven or clean tones
  • 53/58 Toggle – Sweet early 50s or late 50s glassy hotrod gain/tone circuit
  • Valiant custom speaker – inspired by the Eric Johnson alnico signature

Advanced oddfellow tube complement:
  • 1) 12AX7 1) 12AT7 1) Octal 6SL7 (50s era preamp tube)
  • 1) EL84, 1) 6L6

Push Pull Class A using 1-EL84 and 1- Octal Power Tube (6L6 stock) - use any Octal power tube along with the EL84 – 6V6, 6L6, EL34, KT66 etc no biasing required. The Telstar phase inverter provides each dissimilar tube with the correct drive for true push pull balanced operation.

Jupiter Red ‘Astron 50s’ and Yellow ‘60s’ style signal caps in select spots

Partial late 40s Grid leak bias input stage (thick and organic feel) Partial Fixed Bias output section (the richness of cathode bias with the snap of fixed bias)
