Description & Specs

Renowned guitarist, producer and songwriter Prashant Aswani has long mesmerized audiences with his distinctive guitar voice, which combines a hard-hitting, aggressive playing style with unique phrasing, unbridled passion and spontaneity. Known as the “guru of groove,” Aswani has honed his technical chops across almost every imaginable genre, from mainstream hard rock, pop and soul to more eclectic international fare. In addition to recording his own acclaimed solo albums and soundtracks, Aswani’s impressive repertoire includes touring and recording with artists such as Greg Howe, Christina Milian, Justin Timberlake, Jose Pasillas (Incubus), Rhonda Smith (Prince) and Ronu Majumdar.

Charvel honors the inimitable guitarist with the stunning all-new Prashant Aswani Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal PA28. Coined after his initials and shared birthday/wedding anniversary date, the PA28 is designed to deliver next-level performance and an incredibly versatile and ideal studio tonal range — from lush sound designs to crushing riffs and memorable melodies.

Crafted from alder for full and balanced tone, the body features a scalloped lower back bout and sculpted shredder’s cut heel for enhanced comfort and unencumbered upper-fret access. The graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck is rock-solid, and has a 12”-radius rosewood fingerboard with comfortable rolled edges, 22 jumbo frets and 42mm Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut. The heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel and Luminlay® side dots are additional game-changers for all touring musicians.

A big fan of vintage PAF pickups, Aswani worked with the Charvel product team to design the all-new Charvel PA28 humbucking pickup set. Featuring alnico 3 magnets for evenly balanced tone, these dynamic and touch-sensitive pickups sound equally impressive both clean and distorted. Glassy, chiming cleans with woody undertones are ideal for single-note R&B funk lines, while added delay or reverb churns out lush chords. With gain, these pickups soar with rich overtones and harmonics while remaining articulate yet smooth—perfect for the modern- high gain players and vintage players for keeping dynamics and articulation for rhythm and lead playing alike. Flexible tonal command is at your fingertips with a five-way blade pickup switch and skirted Strat®-style volume and tone knobs, with Dunlop® Super Pots for smooth volume swells and accidental tone shifting prevention.

For fluidly dynamic and soulful tremolo action with superior tuning stability, Aswani has chosen a Wilkinson® WVS1302P 2-point bridge with locking saddles and pop-in tremolo arm.

Decked out in a mesmerizing Inca Silver thin-skin nitro lacquer finish with matching headstock, the Prashant Aswani Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal PA28 also features a parchment pickguard,“PA28” signature on the back of the headstock and all-chrome hardware, including the staggered Charvel-branded locking tuners.
