Description

Thank you for purchasing your new Daredevil pedal. These are all hand built in Chicago by Johnny Wator using high quality, through hole components.

This 2 in 1 pedal originated as a collaboration with Chicago Blues musician Toronzo Canon back in 2016. This short run is a limited reissue with some improvements over the original release.

On the right, we have the Southside Fuzz, a modified version of the 60's Sam Ash Fuzzz. A silicon transistor driven circuit with hard clipping and fat, chewy fuzz tone with loads of sustain.

The left half holds the Northside Drive, is a tweaked SD-1 overdrive. The tone pot for this is an internally mounted trimmer on the PCB, you can adjust it with a guitar pick usually or small screwdriver. These are loaded with JRC4558 op amps and have symmetrical silicon clipping diodes.

The toggle switch controls the stacking order of each effect. IMHO, it sounds best towards the left, but feel free to experiment with your own results and tones.

The Chicago Way is designed to run on a 9V - DC power source, negative pin (ground) or a battery, and has true bypass switching. For best performance of your effect, use a high quality isolated power source. Any individual wall plug or non-grounded power adaptors may cause unwanted noise.
