Brand New

Description & Specs

From Epiphone:

Epiphone presents the Ltd. Ed. Peter Frampton "1964" Texan Premium Outfit, designed with guitar legend Peter Frampton. Featuring a Solid Spruce top with a rare Faded Vintageburst finish and the same L. R. Baggs DS-ELE 2-pickup system Frampton uses on his vintage Texan! Plus, Schaller M6 machine heads, a Hand-Signed Certificate of Authenticity, and a Premium Hard Case. Limited to 100 guitars.

Show Me the Way To An Epiphone:  Frampton purchased his original Texan in 1968 while recording with Humble Pie.  “I loved Steve Marriott’s guitar which was an Epiphone Frontier,” recalled Frampton. “I asked our guitar tech if he could find me one like it and he came back with the Texan. And I played it and loved it. Mine was made only 3 months apart from Paul McCartney’s in 1964. He wrote “Yesterday” on his and I wrote “Baby I Love Your Way” on mine!” Frampton’s original 1964 Texan has been his main songwriting guitar since the early 70s and has been a constant companion on the road until it was retired in favor of his new Ltd. Ed. “1964” Texan. “I played the prototype on a British TV show and it sounded incredible. I’m so thrilled and honored.”

Solid Spruce Top with Faded Vintageburst Finish:  Like Frampton’s vintage 1964 Texan, the new Ltd. Ed. Peter Frampton "1964" Texan Premium Outfit has Solid Mahogany Body and a Solid Spruce top with a rare Faded Vintageburst finish and 3-ply Ivory and Black binding. The Mahogany neck has a 1960s SlimTaper™ C-Profile with a 25.5” scale length, 20 medium jumbo frets, a 12” radius, and a Pau Ferro fingerboard with Pearloid "Parallelograms” inlays. The traditional Sloped Dovewing headstock comes with a replica of Frampton’s signature in silver plus Frampton’s original serial number-- “205898"--on the back along with a “2018 Edition” logo. The 2-way adjustable truss rod has an Epiphone “bullet” shaped cover with a 60s era Epiphone “E” logo in white.  The Pau Ferro reverse belly bridge has a bone saddle and white bridge pins with "Abalone" Dots.  The tortious shell-style pickguard also has a 60’s era silver “E” emblem.

L. R. Baggs DS-ELE System:  Peter Frampton customized his new Epiphone Ltd. Ed. “1964” Texan Premium Outfit with the same cutting-edge L. R. Baggs DS-ELE system he uses on the road with his original ’64 Texan. The DS-ELE system is a miniature onboard combination microphone and pickup mixing system with Class A electronics featuring an L. R. Baggs Element™ Transducer and a L. R. Baggs FET Omni-Condenser Microphone in the guitar body.

The unique system allows for both mono or split stereo operation and incredible accurate reproduction of the true acoustic tone of the Texan through any PA system. The soundhole mounted pickup includes Phase control and Master Volume and Tone controls along with a tunable low-cut filter for the microphone element as well as phase control. The system is powered by a standard 9-volt battery

Schaller M6 Machine Heads:  The new Ltd. Ed. Peter Frampton "1964" Texan Premium Outfit includes the same Schaller M6 machine heads that Frampton uses on his customized ’64 Texan along with nickel strap buttons at the neck heel and body and a 60s era blue soundhole label with the serial number and original Texan model number: FT-79. The Premium Outfit includes a Hand-Signed Certificate of Authenticity, Presentation Binder, and Premium Hard Case.

We’re all musicians here at Chicago Music Exchange and we want you to love the gear you get from us. We understand that sometimes you get a piece of gear that doesn’t work out for you. That’s why we offer an easy return policy to take the stress out of purchasing from us.

If you decide you'd like to return an item, please contact your Sales Rep, fill out the Return Request form below, or give us a call.

If you placed your order on Amazon or eBay, we advise issuing the return request from your account on the platform of purchase - our Customer Service team will process a refund upon receipt of the item(s).

Most new items may be returned within 30 days of delivery and most vintage & used items may be returned within 3 days of delivery for a full refund, exchange, or store credit. Please pack the product safely for the journey back to us. If the product was shipped for free, the charge will be deducted from refund, unless the reason for the return is outside normal circumstances.

Please contact us as soon as possible if your order was received incorrectly, damaged, or defective. Most times we will give you an RA number (Return Authorization). Why is that number important? This will allow us to speed up the process of the return.

We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee based on the return condition. Some items we just can’t take back for returns, due to a one time function like strings or drums heads and other times it’s not sanitary to do so with microphones or harmonicas.
