The Gibson Custom Flying V™ Custom, Heavy Aged, Teal Sparkle, is a bold reimagining of one of the most iconic shapes in electric guitar history. As part of the Gibson Custom Limited Edition Collection, this striking instrument draws inspiration from years of Made to Measure custom orders and the imagination and creativity of the Gibson Custom Shop artisans in Nashville, Tennessee. It merges classic Custom-level elegance with the futuristic spirit that has defined the Flying V since its late-50s debut.

Crafted from solid mahogany and finished in a Heavy Aged nitrocellulose lacquer, this model delivers the unmistakable feel of a well-loved original from the first Gibson Golden Age. The Murphy Lab’s Heavy Aging introduces significant lacquer checking, edge wear, and subtle play marks that bring a lifetime of character to a brand-new instrument. The multi-ply top binding provides a refined frame for the dramatic Teal Sparkle finish, creating a captivating contrast between vintage styling and modern flair.

The mahogany neck is carved to the 1950s Chunky D profile, providing a confident, substantial feel that suits everything from expressive bends to driving rhythm work. A long neck tenon enhances resonance and sustain, while the ebony fretboard adds snap and articulation to every note. Mother-of-pearl block inlays, single-ply fretboard binding, reissue medium jumbo frets, a 12 inch radius, and a 24.75 inch scale length all contribute to a playing experience that is both luxurious and unmistakably Gibson. Completing the classic Custom aesthetic, the headstock features the Gibson logo and Custom split diamond, both inlaid in mother of pearl.

A powerful pickup configuration enables this model to cover a wide sonic range. The 490R humbucker™ in the neck provides warmth and clarity, while the 498T humbucker in the bridge delivers bold, aggressive drive with enhanced mids and increased output. Individual volume controls for each pickup, and a master tone control make it easy to shape your sound, and a three-way toggle pickup selector adds further versatility. Gold-plated hardware, including an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and a Flying V brass chevron tailpiece with a string-through-body design, contributes to the bold visual impact. Grover® Rotomatic® tuners ensure smooth, dependable tuning.

Each instrument includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a Modern hardshell case.
