| Cosmetic Condition: | This vintage Gibson guitar has aged well and is in good condition. The finish is glossy with checking, scuffs, and shallow dings and dents throughout. The top shows repaired cracks on the treble side of the upper bout and on the lower bout running from the pickguard to the bridge, as well as from the bridge to the end of the top. The back shows repaired cracks from the heel of the neck, near the bass side waist, and on the bass side of the lower bout. All these repairs are stable and will not affect playability. The back also shows some buckle rash. The finish is well-worn around the sound hole and edges of the headstock. The metal hardware is tarnished with age. |
| Serial Number: | N/A |
| Tech Notes: | The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. The frets are medium with minimal play wear. The Hawaiian guitar model generally came with a straight saddle, but this specimen has a slanted saddle, so the bridge may have been replaced. The large neck and wide nut width suggest that this is an HG-00. This model of guitar was available from 1937-1942. |
