The Gibson Memphis Historic Series '61 ES-335 honors some of the finest semi-hollow jazz boxes to ever come off the Kalamazoo line and with classic features like a spliced 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body with quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing and lightweight maple centerblock for excellent sustain and resonance with minimal feedback, handwired Memphis Historic Series humbucking pickups specially calibrated for the perfect vintage-inspired tone, Memphis Tone Control Historic circuitry, a period-correct high-gloss lacquer finish, nickel hardware, and the distinctive, slimmed down ’61-profile neck, imparting the true spirit of Kalamazoo, and the true spirit of ’61, inside and out.
