Electronics: The pickups have been replaced. The bridge pickup is a Gibson humbucker with embossed patent number; the neck pickup is an unlabeled PAF style humbucker. Original wiring harness with 3-way toggle switch and volume/tone controls for each pickup; the pot codes date to 1962.
Pickup Measurements: 8.0k (neck), 7.5k (bridge)
Hardware: The tuners, bridge, strap buttons, and pickup rings have been replaced. The sideways vibrola is original, however it is covering holes in the body from a previously installed Maestro vibrola. It has a small cutout on the bass side of the cover.
Weight: 7lbs
Modifications/Repairs: -Repaired heel crack with finish touchups -Replaced pickups -The neck has been refretted -The nut has been shimmed -Open screw holes from previous vibrola -Replaced tuners, strap buttons, bridge, and pickup rings -Replaced binding toward the end of the fretboard
Case Details: Hardshell Case
Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Gibson SG is well worn and played, with checking and patches of wear on the glossy body and neck. There are chips around the edges of the body along with moderate buckle rash on the back. There is a heel repair with touched up finish, visible in the cutaways and around the neck heel. There are also screw holes in the body from a previously installed vibrola; these are covered by the original tailpiece. The back of the neck is worn comfortably smooth, and there are replaced sections of binding along the bass side of the neck and at the end of the fretboard.
Serial Number: 44462
Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief, and the large frets show minimal wear. The serial number dates the guitar to 1962.
