Although the serial number dates to 1970, Gibson's usage of serial numbers that correspond to specific years during the 1960s can be extremely inconsistent. In addition, this particular SG is from a transitional year making inconsistencies more ubiquitous. This being said, the guitar is being dated to 1965 based on the pot codes and cosmetic appointments.
