Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Gretsch Country Gentleman is in clean cosmetic condition, showing nice aging and light wear. The glossy finish has various light scratches, and the binding has areas that have deteriorated as is common with Gretsch guitars of the era. The gold hardware is nicely tarnished, and there are open holes near the bridge from the removed mute mechanisms. There is a fine crack in the ebony fretboard from frets 5 to 11, which is not affecting playability, and the neck binding has areas of deterioration as well. The headstock face has light checking, and the back of the neck is smooth with a few mild patches of wear.
Serial Number: 61867
Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action, and sets up well with 10 gauge strings or heavier due to limited truss rod adjustability. The original narrow frets are low with minor play wear. The serial number and construction appointments date the guitar to 1963.
