Follow up to one of the most desirable Single Coils of all time has been faithfully recreated by the team at LSL Instruments. Using our own special formula close enough to the original to call it a true 60’s single coil, but just different enough to call it an LSL creation. 42 AWG wire and Alnico 5 magnets with RWRP Middle pickup for noiseless 2 and 4 positions with slightly higher output than the 50’s set, for a wonderfully “alive” woody tone that you’d expect to hear the greats like Beck, Laundau and many great progressive blues, jazz and rock players use for just a bit more punch. Our build techniques get you the 60’s sound without modernizing your guitar at all. We love woody sounding pickups and our 60’s maintain that close to 50’s vibe but allow for higher output for more modern genres of guitarists. We have found the sweet spot that LSL owners have enjoyed for almost 15 years in our hand crafted USA made guitars. All of our pickups are hand wound in SoCal with the highest levels of care and quality. Not only are they hand wound, but we go the extra mile and scatter wind all of our pickups, which makes them more lively and responsive to your specific pick attack along with being highly articulate and dynamic. Scatter wound techniques take longer but the payoff is worth the effort.
