The 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow Limited Edition marries PRS innovation with distinct wood appointments to bring players an incredible amount of versatility in a unique package. Limited to just 280 pieces worldwide, this special edition features PRS’s McCarty III treble and bass pickups with a proprietary PRS Narrowfield in the center position along with an artist grade figured maple top, black limba back and neck, and Honduran rosewood fretboard and headstock veneer.
The PRS Special Semi-Hollow delivers twelve pickup combinations to players, thanks to the three-pickup configuration paired with a 5-way blade and two mini-toggles. Roll back the tone control for added growl, turn it up for some shimmer, and have fun exploring this versatile tonal palette. The volume level between the humbucking and single-coil settings remains very even, and the semi-hollow body with single f-hole provides welcome airiness and depth to the guitar’s tone.
Other classic appointments include a 25” scale length, 22 frets, 10” fretboard radius, and Pattern neck shape. The PRS “Old School” birds inlays with outlines and a PRS “Pre-Factory” eagle on the headstock both pay homage to early PRS guitars. The PRS Gen III patented tremolo, PRS Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons, and PRS Signature 10-46 strings round out the specs.
