Taylor GTe Mahogany Natural ES2
Designed to produce a stronger low-end response than a guitar its size would normally deliver, Taylor’s GT Series Mahogany ES2 models introduce a new category to the world of acoustic guitar shapes with a scaled-down version of Taylor’s “Jumbo” body shape, with mahogany’s naturally compressed sound around the center of the EQ. Plus, Taylor’s ES2 electronics provide ample tonal control and responsiveness.
GT Series—Mahogany
More than just a new body style for Taylor guitars, the Grand Theater (GT) shape represents a whole new category of guitar. With an even shorter scale than the Grand Concert, the GT features an asymmetrical C-Class bracing—which employs ideas adapted from Taylor’s V-class bracing—to produce a stronger low-end response than a guitar its size would normally deliver. The heightened touch sensitivity of Taylor GT series all-mahogany models offer more focused fundamental frequencies around the midrange, providing a naturally compressed sound around the center of the EQ.
Grand Theater
Sporting the curves of the Grand Orchestra (Taylor’s “Jumbo” body style) scaled into uniquely compact proportions—including a shorter, 24 1/8-inch scale length for a slinky and responsive handfeel—Taylor’s Grand Theater (GT) body shape employs C-Class bracing to pack the tonal depth of a full-size guitar into a form that’s easy to play. With dimensions that fall between the travel-friendly GS Mini and Grand Concert body shapes, the GT represents Taylor’s reimagination of the parlor-style guitar for the present day.
ES2 Electronics
The Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) delivers the latest technology in Taylor acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the ES2 system is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, featuring three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The new positioning enables the piezo pickup’s crystals to respond more naturally to the guitar’s energy as it is transferred through the saddle, with three pickup sensors installed behind the saddle, through the bridge, with three tiny Allen screws that calibrate the position of the sensors in relation to the saddle. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed preamp, this ES2 system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness.
