Even before it’s out of its road case, you’ll see that this isn’t just any Two-Rock amp stack!
Two-Rock has made its name by building boutique, high-headroom amplifiers now preferred by a growing number of effects pedal enthusiasts. Fittingly, with all the knobs on this Two-Rock Custom Reverb Signature John Mayer touring prototype #1 set according to the guitarist’s own faceplate markings for live performances with John Mayer Trio, even with the gain cranked, this complementary pair pumps out the guitarist’s percussive, powerful cleans in a tonal tribute to SRV’s Dumble amplifier tone, which has been an inspiration to Mayer’s own sound since early on!
Specifically voiced to deliver the guitarist’s signature raw, “heavy clean” tone, this Two-Rock Custom Reverb Signature head is paired with this 2x12 “Angry” cabinet, both formerly part of John Mayer’s very own touring rig!
The following specs were carefully collected and recorded by a skilled technician. For a more detailed description and questions regarding sound, feel, or cosmetic condition, please call to speak to one of our experts.

Amp Details: This is a Prototype made specifically for John Mayer in a Custom Reverb Signature chassis. It was used by John Mayer on tour with the trio and used in his Letterman performance. After receiving the first prototype of this cabinet, John Mayer asked Two Rock to make him a version that sounded "angrier". This is that cab and it's labeled "angry" on the inside. Includes the band road cases used on tour.
Lower speaker rattles when the note Db is played, suggesting that there is frequency dependent coil rub. Since this is a unique amplifier, and the amp sounds fantastic otherwise, we opted to leave it completely original.
