| Tech Notes: | The mandolin plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. The narrow bar frets are medium-low with light play wear. Because of the light top bracing, only light gauge strings should be used. The serial number on early instruments constructed by Lyon & Healey in Chicago, branded by Washburn, are not sufficient to provide an exact date, but the construction appointments and inner labels date this instrument to between 1897 and 1904. |
