Eddie’s ready with new models, new finishes, exotic tonewoods, and pure power. Are you?
It’s been a banner year for Eddie Van Halen. Well, one of many banner years. The EVH brand has been making waves with incredible, high-end replicas of the iconic guitars of the notorious shredder’s heyday, and they’re ready to capitalize on that momentum with more fun stuff from the Halen-verse.
EVH wants to put a monster under every bed with the Striped Series Frankie. This reliced replica of Eddie’s legendary Franken-strat features a quartersawn maple neck with licensed Strat headstock, 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard, truss rod adjustment spoke wheel on the heel, Strat-style “Tone” volume knob, a direct-mount EVH Wolfgang humbucker in the bridge, five-way dummy blade in the middle, and dummy Strat pickup in the neck just like the original.
Available in a range of three wild metallic finishes with ebony fingerboards, the EVH Wolfgang Special features the classic specs Eddie himself prefers, like the 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard, truss rod adjustment spoke wheel on the heel, EVH D-Tuna, and locking trem and nut, as well as a few new twists, specced out to Eddie’s liking, such as a rolled neck with hand-rubbed polyurethane finish and three-way switching with a 500K EVH Boums low-friction volume pot and 250K EVH Boums high-friction tone pot.
EVH expands on the Wolfgang WG Standard to include bright, beautiful finishes, as well as models with quilted and spalted exotic maple tops. Classic Eddie-approved specs apply, like the 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard, carved neck, heel-mount truss rod adjustment spoke wheel, and locking trem and nut, but the body features a “contour cut” forearm carve for enhanced comfort.
The number 5150 is synonymous with Eddie Van Halen. The legendary amp is as much a part of his legacy as skin-tight leggings, so it’s a good thing the new EVH 5150III 50S is slicker than spandex. Sporting a black striped grill and loaded with 50 watts of dual Shuguang 6L6 power, the 5150II 50S head has selectable impedance (4, 8, 16 ohm), seven JJ ECC83 preamp tubes, three channels (two with independent dual concentric gain/volume and one with 3-band EQ), adjustable bias control, dual parallel outs, effects loop, midi input, line out, and a headphone jack.
The companion cab, stocked with two 12” Celestion EVH G12H 30W Anniversary Series speakers, can push 60 watts at 16 ohms and features a ¼” parallel out, birch cabinet, tilt legs and bar, and head attachment assembly.
