Atkin Guitars' aim is simple: build the best.

Founder Alister Atkin and his team of six seek to bring out the instrument's very soul in each Atkin model, focusing on what makes an acoustic what it is and what keeps it from being everything that it can be.

As it turns out, what's true for Atkin is also true for most things: Feel is foremost. Filigree is frivolous. Personality is paramount, and most importantly, what's best is always best.

Founded in Canterbury, England, in 1995, Atkin Guitars' uses a combination of traditional techniques and a little modern technology to handcraft around 350 guitars a year, all emanating the indefinable qualities that delight, surprise, and inspire us even after decades as players.

From Atkin:

The OM, or “Orchestra Model” combines a full scale length with a slightly scaled down body – it is narrower and shallower than a “D” style guitar like our White Rice or Essential D.  The challenge for all OM builders is to allow for a rich, commanding bass in spite of the the smaller, more ergonomic body, and our hand-scalloped bracing and torrified select Sitka top allows us to make this a reality.

Our OM is popular with fingerstyle guitar players, but in truth it’s a great all-rounder and suits singer-songwriters and folk artists as well.

We’ve departed in several ways from the classic pre-war style: A larger top dome, our lifetime-guaranteed neck/body joint, and a two-way truss rod are among the changes,  so this isn’t a historical reproduction, but a modern British-made guitar with heaps of mojo!

Two-Rock Amplifiers At Chicago Music Exchange! | Two-Rock Explained

In the world of boutique tube amplifiers, few names carry the reputation of Two-Rock Amplifiers. Founded in 1999 and originally inspired by Dumble and high-end Fender tones, Two-Rock Amps has long since developed an identity entirely its own — one defined not just by how the amp sounds, but by how it feels. Touch sensitivity and dynamic response are at the core of every Two-Rock circuit, creating an instrument-like playing experience that has turned players like John Mayer, Eric Johnson, and Joe Bonamassa into believers. At Chicago Music Exchange, we carry a full selection of Two-Rock Amplifiers across a range of models, configurations, and colors — and seemingly everyone who plugs into one doesn't want to stop. Discover the Two-Rock difference for yourself: call us at (773) 525-7773, chat with us online, or visit our Lincoln Avenue showroom.
