Suhr’s Classic and Classic Antique Series pair classic looks and feel with proprietary technology for a playing experience all their own.
Producing hand-crafted guitars and amplifiers with more than just performance in mind, John Suhr aims to inspire artists to be the best by offering them the best, beginning with his Classic and Classic Antique Series.
To say John Suhr knows how to make a guitar is an understatement. He’s done it for Clapton, Frampton, Mark Knopfler and Lou Reed, Steve Stevens and Little Steven, so when John set up his own factory to launch the Suhr brand in 1997 with over 35 years in lutherie under his belt, including a stint as a Fender Master Builder, it’s safe to say he already had the guitar world on a string.
The Classic and Classic Antique Series represent the culmination of John Suhr’s near four-decade long journey. With both T and S models, the Classic Series (with Classic Antique aged-finish variants) features vintage-inspired ‘60s “C” standard neck profiles, rosewood and maple fingerboards, and alder and ash bodies paired with proprietary hardware, custom pickups, and premium electronics like Suhr’s SSCII hum cancelling system.
