Finish Details: Body has been refinished. Neck has been oversprayed.

Body Details: The solid alder body was once candy apple red and has been refinished with daphne blue. The middle and bridge pickup cavities have been routed for humbuckers.

Neck Details: One piece maple neck with unbound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays. The neck has been refretted and oversprayed. The neck stamp reads "2APR65B".
Electronics: Original Fender "gray bobbin" pickups with 1965 date codes, original pots with 1965 date codes, original blade switch, and original wiring. Controls include a 5-way pickup selector, master volume pot, neck tone pot, and middle tone pot. The solder joints on the neck tone pot casing have been touched up (most likely during the refinishing process) and the lead wires from the output jack have been spliced to add length for easier pickguard removal.

Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has a fair amount of play wear. The new finish on the back of the neck has worn to a satin feel from play wear in frets 1-7. The body has several large finish chips, numerous scratches and blemishes, and the bridge is rusty and tarnished.

Tech Notes: Plays well with low action and optimal neck relief. Frets are tall and show only minor sign of play wear. The neck stamp, pickup codes, and pot codes date this guitar to 1965.
