There is also a small repaired crack on the back of the headstock, near the high E tuner set screw. The neck has a "3 FEB 68 B" heel stamp. The neck heel also has "SAS" embossed on the bottom.
Electronics: Original single coil pickups with black fiberboard bobbins, and original wiring harness with 3-way blade switch and master volume/tone controls. There is a treble bleed capacitor on the volume control, which may have been added later. The pot codes date to 1966.
Pickup Measurements: 6.1k (neck), 6.9k (bridge)
Hardware: The nut has been replaced.
Weight: 7lbs 7oz
Modifications/Repairs: The neck has been refretted and the nut has been replaced. There is a small repaired crack on the back of the headstock near the set screw for the high E tuner. The treble bleed capacitor on the volume pot also may not be original.
Case Details: Original hardshell case
Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has plenty of nice aging present: the finish has yellowed over the fabric, with the original tone mostly preserved underneath the pickguard. The finish and fabric has cracked in areas, and is lifting in some areas on the front. There are numerous small chips and dings, along with light checking. The neck is glossy and smooth, with light wear on the fingerboard.
Serial Number: 230594
Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and optimal neck relief; the truss rod has somewhat limited adjustability in the loosening direction, but the guitar sets up well with 10 gauge strings or heavier. The neck stamp and serial number date the guitar to 1968.
