BIG BUZZ: EVH LIMITED EDITION 1979 BUMBLEBEE TRIBUTE RELIC
Van Halen’s storied S-style returns!
We’re all abuzz here about the new EVH tribute affectionately known as “Bumblebee.”
A perfect recreation of Eddie Van Halen’s black and yellow-striped guitar that first graced the cover of Van Halen II in 1979, this Strat-style six-string features original specs like an ash body with reliced signature finish, bolt-on birdseye maple neck with oiled back, birdseye maple fingerboard with 12” radius and 22 jumbo frets, katalox dot inlays with black side dots, Bumblebee bridge humbucking pickup, and Strat-style “Tone” volume knob.
EVH has spared no detail, going as far as to include the six screw holes on Eddie’s own Bumblebee body and obscure them identically with a replica of the original prototype non-fine tuner locking tremolo bridge, matched here of course with an original proto locking nut and a fully reliced chrome hardware suite featuring period-correct Schaller tuners, custom brass string retainer, eye-screw strap hooks, and side output jack.

Limited to just 50 units worldwide, we will only be getting one (yes, that’s ONE total) Bumblebee of our own, complete with custom Anvil case, loads of cool case candy including a Van Halen Live Tour in Japan 1978 & 1979 book and several autographed items, not to mention Eddie’s real John Hancock is right on the back of the headstock.
To say this Bumblebee is limited is an understatement (bees these days, am I right?). Once this bee has flown, it’s gone, and we doubt they’ll make it again. So unless you want to get caught with your hand in the honey jar, you’d better call, click, or stop in today. Quick! Before the whole hive is talking.
