|Maple neck with bound ebony fingerboard and split block inlays. The neck has been reset and refretted. The fingerboard was lightly planed during the refretting process.
|Original hardware. The bridge is Brazilian rosewood. The tailpiece is hinged and the tuning machines are stair stepped Grovers, both of which are consistent with 1938 appointments.

|This vintage guitar is in good condition with wear consistent with age. The finish is glossy, vibrant, and lightly weather-checked. There are minor dings, dents, and scratches throughout. The hardware has a patina consistent with the age of the insrtrument.
|The guitar plays well with optimal action and neck relief. The frets are narrow with medium height and no play wear. The appointments of the guitar are consistent with 1938 specs, and the serial number dates to 1939. This piece is likely a very early 1939 model.
