Pat Quilter has outdone himself. Amazing little BIG amp! Only 21 lbs., but it will keep up with a full band without even breathing hard. Dial-able from 0-200 watts with the tone remaining constant. The two channels are as independent as I've ever found on a two-channel amp. Separate voices, separate active EQs, separate boosts and limiters, separate sub-master volumes. The only shared features are the reverb and tremolo. Most other two-channel amps I've played, including my Quilter MicroPro 200 (which I'll soon be selling) require a compromise. On my MicroPro I could get a great clean rhythm tone, but the lead was lacking unless I used pedals. Similarly, if I dialed in the lead tone I wanted, the rhythm tone wouldn't clean up to my liking. On the new Aviator Mach 3, I can set clean rhythm and dirt lead completely independently and get a great tone for both. Additionally, kicking the limiter in and out on each channel allows two different tones per channel - almost like a four channel amp! Each channel has six voices, three Fenders of different eras, Marshall, Dumble, and Vox. All are usable and allow for wide palette of tone shaping. My only complaint, not really a complaint but, rather, an observation, is that the head isn't easily removable like on the Quilter BlockDock series. An early you tube posted by Quilter stated that head was easily removable (the head is identical to the Aviator Mach 3 Head sold separately). In fact, you need to remove six wood screws to remove the head - not something I'm likely to do at a gig. It would be nice to remove the head and place it on top so the controls face forward rather than facing up. Forward facing controls would be a little more convenient. Nevertheless, this amp has not only met my high expectations, but has exceeded them! This may very well be the last amp I ever purchase. Kudos to Pat Quilter and the magicians at Quilter Labs. Tubes? We don't need no stinkin' tubes!
