The Laurel Canyon is Matchless’ first ever 6V6 amp influenced by the timeless music created by the legendary musicians who resided in Laurel Canyon in the 60s and 70s. Controls are Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Master Volume. Powered by one 5AR4 rectifier tube, 2 x 6V6s and driven by three 12AX7s. The combination creates an unbelievably robust sound. The optional reverb is powered by two 12AX7/ECC83’s and drives through a 2 spring reverb tank. The reverb signal is also parallel to the input signal so there is no loss in tone or power when it’s turned up.
The standard effects loop is a ¼” send and ¼” return non buffered loop. Only time based effects are recommended such as reverb pedals, delays, chorus, etc. Boost and gain pedals are recommended to be placed in front of the amp to avoid clipping the phase inverter. Like all of the other Matchless amplifiers, the Laurel Canyon is meticulously hand crafted to military like specifications from start to finish.
The Laurel Canyon is ideal for professional studio work, playing in venues both large and small, and for home practice.
