Description
While sorting through Taylor’s tonewood reserves recently, master builder Andy Powers and co-founder Bob Taylor rediscovered a small cache of gorgeous Macassar ebony from a purchase years ago. Andy chose to pair the back and side sets with tops of equally beautiful old-growth sinker redwood salvaged from the coastal rivers of Northern California. This extremely small-batch limited-edition run marks our first opportunity to incorporate the Macassar/sinker pairing into guitars featuring Taylor’s V-Class bracing. On this Grand Auditorium model, the V-Class architecture intensifies the natural musical character of the pairing—the clear, bell like response of Macassar, and the warm, overtone-rich response of the redwood. The luxurious look and sound are matched by the rich appointment details of the 900 and Presentation Series.
