With the top mounted thumbscrew, you can easily load and unload 4 9vDC batteries to give vintage effects the liveliness and responsiveness that only occurs when your battery's voltage and current output react to your pick attack. But you won't be sacrificing reliability for tone-your batteries will only be used when powered by the 9vDC in (supply can also function w / o 9vDC in).
